Chase Folk

Bridge Cross Club, Chase Terrace

Friday 23rd October 2009

Home from home.

It's always a thrill to be back at Chase Folk - our home from home! Everytime we appear here, there seems to be more equipment on the stage for other functions at the club, but we set up okay.

Would Steve stick to the list?

Having not played here for a while, we put much thought into our set lists for tonight - including some original songs and others we had not played for some time. The question on my mind was "Would my mate stick to the list?"

The seated, acoustic numbers.

We thought it would be a change do play some acoustic songs in a laid back, relaxed fashion with both of us seated, but as you can see, there wasn't room for my stool! Hey ho - the best-laid plans.

In this section, we featured Danny's Song, for friends Rob and Gail whom we hadn't seen for a while.

Letting rip!

Tonight's show also gave us the opportunity to feature the electric guitar again, so I brought along the lovely Gibson Black Beauty. We played Sandman, Southern Man or Simple Man. At my age, all these similar-sounding titles are confusing. I just follow Steve from the opening chords of the intro.

We had a great evening!

Thanks to everyone who came along to enjoy the evening with us - you made it what it was.

To answer the question posed earlier, Steve adhered to the set lists pretty well. Thanks Mate!

Nice to see Verity and Pat, Jude and Graham plus others, too many to mention.

The Main Man!

This is our great pal, Barry "Baz" Yates, in yet another amazing hat from his extensive collection.

He has been promoting live music locally for more years than most can remember and long may he continue. Do keep supporting his efforts in running this club and in his other ventures.

Thanks to Jan for the photos.
